The CrossFit phenomenon is here to stay. As such, 1200 athletes from all over the region who have already qualified will arrive in the city of Buenos Aires to compete and be crowned the best. Over three days, they will test their physical abilities – individually and as a team – through exercises derived from Olympic gymnastics, Olympic weightlifting, and functional training.
This edition will occupy 10,000 m2: the Yellow Pavilion and Central Court. Martin Casas, director of Southfit Challenge stated “Being back at La Rural fills us with pride. Seeing the Central Arena full of spectators again is inspiring, and this year we want to break our own attendance record; we expect over 10,000 spectators.”
Regarding sports, Nicolás Ini, director of Southfit, stated “Our goal is clear: to find the fittest in each category. All events are designed for this purpose. We will test their strength, endurance, and stamina, as well as teamwork. We will put them to the test on the 10 physical capacities outlined by CrossFit, so that the athlete or team with the best fitness will be the winner.”
This year, a category that is rapidly developing will also have a space: adaptive. And although it is not competitive, Southfit is committed to its growth in the coming years.
The event will also feature commercial stands from brands and services related to the sports industry: apparel, nutrition, supplies, instruments, and equipment. In addition, there will be attractions for the whole family: a food court, a beer garden, and games for the little ones.
