With a total result of 5.73 tCO2e, the event brought together nearly 400 media professionals and achieved an environmental participation rate of 51.4%, thereby establishing an event management model with a triple impact.
Buenos Aires, June 5, 2026 – Within the framework of World Environment Day, La Rural presented the results of the Carbon footprint measurement generated during the meeting by Journalist's Day 2026, held on May 28 at El Central.
Environmental management, developed alongside Zeroma, threw a total footprint of 5.73 tons of CO₂ equivalent (tCO₂e), which represents a 19.75 kg of CO intensity₂e by assistant. The measurement considered variables such as mobility, energy consumption, catering, logistics, and general event operation. The results showed that the the main source of emissions was associated with food and beverages, representing approximately 75% of the total footprint, followed by the mobility of attendees, at 21.5%.
More than half of the attendees real voluntarily completed a survey on their transportation to the event, allowing you to know theEnvironmental agreement related to your travel. In turn, the participants received personalized information about the emission level generated by their mobility and they had the possibility to Sponsoring trees as a complementary socio-environmental action.
This first experience in situ allowed to give a important step in the environmental management of La Rural's events: measure the impact to understand, manage, and raise awareness among attendees. The challenge for the upcoming editions will be advance on the main identified emission sources, incorporating concrete measures for reduction and deepening the path towards the goal Net Zero 2050.
This action is in addition to other initiatives promoted by La Rural, as renewable energy generation through more than 1,100 solar panels and the implementation of Waste separation and recovery programs. This way, the company continues to consolidate a sustainability strategy based on the continuous improvement and in the construction of a event industry increasingly responsible, efficient, and innovative.
