During its 19 days open to the public, 1,245,000 visitors explored the Fair’s 41,590 m2 of exhibition space, which featured 486 exhibitors, 1,483 publishing houses, 2,137 cultural activities, and visits from more than 200 international authors. In addition, more than 1,000 public libraries from across Argentina participated in a new edition of CONABIP’s “Libro %” Program, and during the Professional Sessions, more than 12,000 representatives from the book industry attended. Furthermore, looking ahead to 2024, it was announced that Lisbon will be the Guest of Honor City at the 48th Buenos Aires International Book Fair.
The Buenos Aires International Book Fair concluded on May 15th, an edition whose programming focused on the 40 years of uninterrupted democracy in the country and the celebration of the hundredth anniversary of the publication of Fervor in Buenos Aires, Jorge Luis Borges's first work.
