Buenos Aires, July 2024 – “The countryside is much more than just countryside,” is the slogan for the 136th International Livestock, Agriculture, and Industry Exhibition, which will take place from July 18 to 28 at the traditional Palermo grounds.
The press conference was headed by the presidents of the Argentine Rural Society, Nicolás Pino, and of the Sociedad Anónima, Raúl Etchebehere, and was attended by Marcos Pereda, vice-president of the SRA, directors of the entity, authorities from La Rural SA, journalists, and presidents of breed associations.
During the event, the details of this 2024 edition were revealed, which is marked by major celebrations: the 100th anniversary of the Argentine Hereford Breeders Association, the 80th anniversary of the Hampshire Down Breeders Association, the 70th anniversary of the Brahman Breeders Association of Argentina, and the 40th anniversary celebrations for both the Braford Association and the Polo Horse Breeders Association.
This new Rural Expo is a meeting point for producers, visitors, and industry professionals who, over 11 days, can enjoy the latest developments in the world of livestock, agriculture, and industry.
“We recognize the effort everyone makes, from ranchers and exhibitors to those who visit us, because it's not easy, in this country's current context, to make the effort involved in being part of this event,” highlighted Nicolás Pino.
“This year we will have the presence of 400 commercial exhibitors, 15 provinces, and more than 2,000 animals, among which 5 new participating breeds stand out,” said Raúl Etchebehere, reaffirming why this event is a true agribusiness hub.
According to their explanation, in addition to the traditional activities ideal for the whole family during winter vacation – farm, guided tours, robotic dairy demonstration, pony rides, 4x4 exhibitions, track shows, parades, and a renovated food court – new attractions include, among others: the steer competition and important in-person, virtual, and televised auctions.
For the second consecutive year, an interreligious meeting will be held. On the other hand, and as is customary, business rounds and academic conferences of high technical value will have a prominent place throughout the Expo. Likewise, the world of Agtech companies and startups will be represented in an exclusive hall dedicated to this ecosystem.
